Real change in your life (and work) is actually an inside job.
There are times when the difficulties you’re up against feel like being caught between a rock and a hard place.
- You see unfortunate patterns and repetitions in your life playing out, no matter how hard you try to break them.
- You see your limits, but it's overwhelming to hunt for solutions. Where to start?
- Your people problems are not going away, but you’re stalled on what to do.
- Your leadership lacks presence of mind, or clarity.
- Your business is stuck, and you’re burnt out.
Any one of these issues are enough to wear you out, and the longer things stand the more unsustainable it becomes.
If you have already tried various solutions and tactics but they haven’t worked out, don’t worry. I’ve cracked the code on how to turn things around, no matter how locked in things seem to be.
First though, I want to tell you how I got there.

Hi, I'm Louisa Barnum. Coach, resource, and advisory.
I work mostly with individuals in 1:1 settings and they usually are leaders looking to face personal limits, develop their leadership skills, or learn how to engage their teams and cultures better. I also sometimes work with teams teaching them about collaboration, good communication skills, and helping them understand and improve work relationship dynamics.
I didn’t start out doing this work. I was a violinist looking to become a soloist and chamber musician. I also sang, developing my voice into a operatic-sounding lyric soprano and regularly performed with both instruments since I was a small child.
But I didn’t like the ambition and self-involvement this path requires. I wondered how this path would heal anything, or serve a world falling apart? So I quit.
At about this time I watched close friends suffer from clinical depression and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, which left a deep impression on me. I myself suffered from a form of depression called dysthymia after I quit the world of music and performance.
Since I was 21 I read about the evolution of consciousness from Rudolf Steiner and his students which had brought about this deeper questioning in me about my path and about the inner nature of mental illness.
I moved to California to study with Dennis Klocek, who taught me about the phenomenology of consciousness, the nature of the soul, and how personal transformation happens. I started to meditate and work my way through my stuck places, learning the principles of healing first hand, and walking the path of transformation. These principles are ancient secrets kept by mystery centers around the world about the nature of the human being and our evolvement.
There I found the tools and worldview upon which I have built my unique approach to the development of the inner life and leadership. That, and what I learned from studying violin and voice about building advanced capability and training.
I took that into consulting work, supporting teams and leaders trying to solve tough social problems around the world, like violence in Zimbabwe, the future of democracy across South America, and the Youth and Justice system in the USA.
Now, I help people transform themselves and their lives — and the lives of their teams and workforce — with my methods.
I’d love to help you put these powerful philosophies about how we grow and transform to work in your life.
