Step Into Your Greatest Work

Here's How.

The Magenta Course

Most change leaders and entrepreneurs start in the wrong place. They have big ideas, make big plans, try to implement those plans, and get stuck. That's like building a boat to cross the ocean and setting sail. It's no wonder that most change makers make slow progress (if any) and then burn out or hit a wall. We go about things very differently.

Step 1: Understand reality

All toxic social realities, from prejudice and domestic abuse to propaganda, war, and poverty, have their ultimate roots in paradigms and beliefs. The first step is to discover a path of knowing & experience that is outside of mental models and is directly in touch with reality. In this step we see that "inner" is real, ubiquitous, and irreducible: the highest point of leverage.

Step 2. Accessing Source

The second step is to perceive the source of creative consciousness in everyday life. This step involves both study and immersive experience into real phenomena. Step by step, we encounter the objective nature of the inner terrain. At the same time, you learn what it means to be inwardly free and creative as distinct from habitual or compelled.

Step 3: Create new realities

The third step is to hone your perceptual and creative abilities in relationship with others and in the work that matters most to you. We move systematically from developing perception and creativity to co-creating health in relationships, teamwork, organizations, and society, the "social sculpture." You learn what social health actually is and how to create it.

We educate differently

Most education promises a shiny future, then gives you theoretical models and a fancy certificate. We design for real transformation in your inner and outer world. To us, you're an engine of transformation, not a robot to program & reward.

Theoretical solutions (old)

Most learning methods prioritize theory over action: theory is learned, then applied. When theories don't work, a second theory is needed. This goes on forever. The same could be said for planning.

This is like trying to learn to swim from a book or diagram, then drowning, and then studying more theory and making new diagrams.

Reality as teacher (new)

We immerse you in practice-based development in your real world. You build your know-how, capabilities, and capacities in real life and work.

Instead of chasing the "right" way, you observe and learn from the phenomena. The phenomenon is the theory. This is like learning to swim by swimming.

How our method works

Conventional education is based on old ideas about the nature of humans and reality. We first update your paradigm, then help you create new social realities in your life and work.

environment

Environment

We provide multiple ways to engage with content, community, support, and mentorship. We don't teach you abstract frameworks to somehow integrate into real life.

building blocks

Building Blocks

We provide you with building blocks, leading from one to the next, taking you step by step through a journey into new terrain and growing skill. And everything is organized for regular use, so you can always find what you need.

goals

Real-world goals

We focus on reality, not abstractions. As you progress, you'll begin to resolve real-life challenges. That's the measure of progress. There are no certificates, degrees, or trophies.

practice

Real-world practice

We don't give you theory you can't use — stones for bread. We want you to develop new abilities, so we give you tools you can use both immediately and in the long term. Real nourishment.

reset

Re-set

We show you exactly why modern society is broken and how it affects your life and work. We then show you how to discover & harness the source of creativity & how to create new social realities in your world.

real time feedback

Real-time feedback

Learning requires feedback so students can measure progress and iterate actions to improve. When it's not working, we help you understand why and how to crack it.

The proof is in the results

We teach at the Source

Most courses ask you to adopt methods, apply frameworks, or use predetermined strategies. To co-create living realities and solutions, however, you need new sense organs, core know-how, and flexible capabilities. We teach these as five interconnected competencies.

worldview 2

real community 3
practice reality 2

1. Reality Shift — Worldview, big picture, purpose, identity, the source

2. Mapping the Higher Self — Consciousness, leadership presence, morality & freedom

3. Creation — How to create value in any context at any scale

4. Social Wholeness — Relationships, teamwork, social health, process

5. Reality as Practice — Momentum, participation, flow, new realities

These five competencies are explained below.

Layer 1: Reality Shift

From the 17th to the 20th centuries, many people believed in an absolute division between “inner” and “outer.” Everything “inner” was subjective and not real, while “out there” was the true reality of “matter,” which is inherently inaccessible to human thought. This worldview was useful for many things, but had significant side effects, including the divisions between self and world, humanity and nature, profit and planet, etc.

Today, thanks to breakthroughs in both science and philosophy, we know that consciousness and awareness are real, and that we can develop them through practice. In this layer, we break free of wrong ideas, habitual tendencies, and worn-out beliefs and, in the process, get to know the source of new insights and creative ability firsthand.

mapping the higher self

Layer 2: Mapping the Higher Self

Humans are mysterious creatures — the only species that can create new realities, make masterpieces, bridge differences — and, at our worst, destroy everything. What accounts for this seemingly endless creative potential? What is the source of human creativity — and how do we get to know it in ourselves, in a first-person sense, so that we can strengthen and develop it?

Here’s where we dig in to the first-person experience — not beliefs not theories, not abstractions — the experience of what it means to transform that which holds us back and unlock our creative potential to see it for what it is.

Layer 3: Creative Know-How

Many business and thought leaders are singing the praises of creativity, but few (if any) actually understand it. Creativity isn’t novelty, inventiveness, cleverness, or whimsy — it’s creation, as in, the ability to bring something new to life. Ideas are everywhere; new realities are not. Creative know-how is the study and practice of bringing something to life and into reality.

In this layer, we dig into the "spiritual-practical" nature of creativity: not only creative process, but also creative consciousness — the mental, emotional, and perceptual shifts that the act of creation demands of the practitioner. Shared understanding of this terrain gives you superpowers to bring your visions to real and vibrant life.

Layer 4: Social Wholeness

Working on big challenges is hard; working with others on big challenges is extra hard. When people work together, their unconscious habits, beliefs, and behaviors combine (and get stuck) in counterproductive patterns that drive mediocrity, unhappiness, and loss.

Successful collaborations, on the other hand, are mobile, fluid, dynamic, self-healing, regenerative, and endlessly creative. For this reason, their culture is more like a living organism than a well-oiled machine. Because whereas a living system can constantly evolve, a machine can only repeat itself (and eventually break).

Effective and creative collaboration doesn't have to be hard or complex. In this layer, we take the mystery out of optimizing teamwork and team culture by teaching you how to master the perceptual, communicative, action-learning, creative capabilities you need to be a master organizer, leader, and guide.

We also show you how to apply the same principles at larger scales in social or organizational change work. So if you want to change the world — we have you covered.

Layer 5: Reality as Practice

Many programs ask you to learn and then overlay a framework or a methodology onto your particular reality. The problem is, life is not a framework and cannot be won by method alone. You actually have to find the right way forward for you. That is why we teach you to practice in reality. The real world is your learning environment.

We help you get into practice, in conversation, in development, and in real work. Let reality tell you what it needs.

In this layer, you learn to transform real-life frictions into flows, mediocrity into excellence, burn-out into revival, and death into life. We supply the next-paradigm insights, disciplines, and practices; you supply the real world challenges. The rubber hits the road.
