We were invited to help leaders from all across Colombia decide whether they could work together to create “collective prosperity” across the national economy.
Some of our participants had been on opposite sides of ideological battles and in some cases the opposing sides of the civil war — so tensions were extremely high. We had one day to help this group decide whether they could span their differences and work together for the good of the whole.
As we kicked off, some of the participants questioned the presence of others and demanded that we change the focus question or cancel the workshop. And, long story short: by the end of the night, the leaders from opposing sides were up late into the night figuring out how to work together. We continued to support these and other Colombian leaders in the years following.
